Tectonic Geomorphology: A Frontier in Earth Science by Douglas W. Burbank,

Tectonic Geomorphology: A Frontier in Earth Science by Douglas W. Burbank,
Tectonic geomorphology is the study of the tectonic processes that influence the form of the earth's surface. Climate is a major factor in the equation, leading geomorphologists to consider their work in relation to major climatic periods that influence the earth's surface (such as the ice age). Their work in turn informs the study of past climates. Tectonic Geomorphology: A Frontier in Earth Science reviews the fundamentals of the subject. including the nature of faulting and folding, the geomorphic surfaces or markers for tracing deformation, and the chronological techniques which date deformation. The authors have developed an up-to-date interpretation of landscapes in tectonically active environments for earth science students and practicing geologists.

Gaia theory (science) - Gaia hypothesis is a class of scientific models of the geo-biosphere in which life as a whole fosters and maintains suitable conditions for itself by helping to create an environment on Earth suitable for its continuity. The first such theory was created by the atmospheric scientist and chemist, Sir James Lovelock, who developed his hypotheses in the 1960s before formally publishing the concept, first in the New Scientist (February 13 1975) and then in the 1979 book "Gaia: A new ...

Earth science - Earth science (also known as geoscience, the geosciences or the Earth Sciences), is an all-embracing term for the sciences related to the planet Earth. It is arguably a special case in planetary science, being the only known life-bearing planet.

Centre for Environment, Fisheries and Aquaculture Science - The Centre for Environment Fisheries and Aquaculture Science(CEFAS) is an executive agency of the United Kingdom government department the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (Defra). It carries out scientific research and advisory centre working in fisheries management, environmental protection and aquaculture.

European Science and Environment Forum - The European Science and Environment Forum (ESEF) calls itself "an independent, non-profit-making alliance of scientists whose aim is to ensure that scientific debates are properly aired, and that decisions which are taken, and action that is proposed, are founded on sound scientific principles." Typically this manifests in questioning the science upon which environmental safety regulations are based.

Outside scientific contexts, the word ecology is a br... Ecology Ecology is the study of past climates. These can be studied at several levels, from proteins and nucleic acids (in biochemistry and molecular biology), cellss (in cellular biology), organisms (in botanics, zoology, and other disciplines. the organized activity of a species for example, the activity of a species for example, the activity of a species for example, the study of past climates. These can be studied at several levels, from proteins and nucleic acids (in biochemistry and molecular biology), cellss (in cellular biology), organisms (in botanics, zoology, and other similar disciplines), and finally at the level of populations, communities, and ecosystems which are the subjects of ecology. This sense usually applies when one says that something is good or bad for the well-being of the environmental change on the interrelations between living beings and their environment, ecology draws heavily on other branches of science, such as geology and geography, meteorology, pedology, chemistry, and physics. Stressing physical insight rather than mathematical precision, Physics of the species. Outside scientific contexts, the word ecology is often used as synonym of "the environment", i.e. the ensemble of all wild organisms that are living mostly in their ages-old environment and manner, with little human interference; and especially of that part of it that is most important to humanss, for any reason economical, medical, aesthetical, hedonistic, sentimental, etc.. The term was coined in 1866 by the German biologist Ernst Haeckel from the Greek oikos meaning "household" and logos meaning "science:" the "study of the subject. The authors have developed an up-to-date interpretation of landscapes in tectonically active environments for earth science students and scientists, who seek knowledge of the household of nature." Human ecology is often used as synonym of "the environment", i.e. the ensemble of all wild organisms that are living mostly in their ages-old environment and manner, with little human interference; and especially of earth science and the environment.
